The U.S. women's soccer team is returning to Washington, D.C., for the first time in more than five years for a Sept. 3 exhibition game against Mexico.

The teams will meet at RFK Stadium, where the Americans are unbeaten in their eight previous games.

The No. 1 team in the world, the U.S. is 26-1-1 against Mexico. But each of the last three meetings was decided by just one goal, including Mexico's lone win, a 2-1 victory during qualifying for the 2011 Women's World Cup.

The Sept. 3 game takes place three days following the conclusion of the National Women's Soccer League inaugural season. U.S. coach Tom Sermanni says that's good because it means the players will be in top shape.
