United keen on Ben Arfa - Report
Manchester United are reportedly ready to take a chance on
Marseille winger Hatem Ben Arfa, according to sources in the South
of France.
The one time starlet of French football, was heralded as the
next Zinedine Zidane as he came through the ranks at Lyon.
Linked with a move to one of Europe's elite, in 2008 he
instead accepted a move to Marseille.
Whilst things have not gone according to plan at the Stade
Velodrome, Ben Arfa still has a host of admirers and, seemingly,
none more so than Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ferguson has shown his liking for the French market in recent
times have already snapped up Gabriel Obertan from Bordeaux and he
could now follow that up by bringing in Ben Arfa.
Olympiakos are desperate to land the 22-year-old winger, but
he seemingly is destined for one of Europe's biggest leagues with
interest from England and Spain.
United are now reported to have made contact with Ben Arfa's
representatives over the prospect of a move - with a loan deal with
a view to a permanent move looking the most likely avenue.
Other reports also suggest that Tottenham and Sevilla would
readily take Ben Arfa in January - again on loan.
