Two goals inside the first 10 minutes helped Ukraine to a 3-1 victory over Poland in their World Cup qualifier on Friday.

Andriy Yarmolenko opened the scoring in the second minute with a long shot into the left-hand corner past keeper Artur Boruc, as Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych and his Polish host, President Bronislaw Komorowski both watched at the National Stadium.

Oleg Gusev made it 2-0 in the seventh minute with a precise finish from inside the penalty area. Lukasz Piszczek pulled a goal back for Poland in the 18th minute, but Roman Zozulya restored Ukraine's two-goal lead just before the break.

Ukraine and Poland have five points each from four games in Group H, though both are far behind leader Montenegro and second-place England.
