Feyenoord beat FC Twente 2-1 in the Dutch Cup semifinals Wednesday, ending former England coach Steve McClaren's hopes for a double.

Twente, which is currently leading the Eredivisie standings by four points with six more rounds to go, took the lead in the 42nd when Luuk de Jong played in Costa Rica forward Byran Ruiz.

Feyenoord captain Giovanni van Bronckhorst equalized eight minutes after the break on a pass from veteran striker Roy Makaay.

Makaay came in as a second-half substitute and secured the win with a goal in the 83rd after exchanging passes with Leroy Fer.

Feyenoord will play the winner of Thursday's meeting between Ajax and lower league side Go Ahead Eagles.
