Turner praises Shrews response
Graham Turner saluted the response from his Shrewsbury side as they bounced back from defeat to see off Coventry 4-1.
Shrews boss Turner made four changes to the team beaten 1-0 by Scunthorpe on Saturday, a result which ended Town's proud 34-match unbeaten home run.
Darren Jones, Paul Parry, Matt Richards and Marvin Morgan sent Shrews into a commanding 4-0 lead before Coventry's late consolation.
"It was a good performance," said Turner. "We got off to the start we wanted and it calmed the nerves a bit.
"It was chalk and cheese from Saturday as we worked a lot harder. We were a lot more composed on the ball and always looked a threat in behind Coventry, so it's been a good night's work.
"What is pleasing is the reaction to the defeat on Saturday and the quality of the performance. We passed the ball well and found some good positions. With the changes and the sense of urgency that was there, it came off for us. I like the way we kept the tempo of the game going. The players have got to take a lot of encouragement from the performance."
