Pictures emerged in a morning newspaper of Pardew and some of his players apparently enjoying the local nightlife at their warm weather training camp, just a few days before they crashed out 1-0 to the Championship side.
But Magpies boss Pardew said: "I don't think there is any correlation with that at all, to be honest."
Defeat at the Amex Stadium capped a miserable week for Newcastle after they were thrashed 5-2 at Fulham last Saturday.
Pardew picked his strongest available side, minus injured skipper Fabricio Coloccini and African Nations Cup trio Cheik Tiote, Demba Ba and new signing Papiss Cisse.
But they could not break down dogged Brighton and were hit with a sucker-punch with 15 minutes remaining when Will Buckley broke away and his shot was deflected in by Mike Williamson.
Ba and Cisse could be back for Wednesday's trip to Blackburn after Senegal's early exit, and although their return comes too late to salvage Newcastle's Wembley hopes, Pardew insists there is plenty to look forward to with his side still sixth in the Premier League.
"We knew the Brighton game was important with the core of our team coming back," he added.
"We knew if we could get through this one then with Coloccini, Cheik, Demba and Papiss coming back it would arm us, but unfortunately it's just got away from us.
"It's a bit of a cliche but we are in a good position in the league and we need to strengthen that now by getting a result at Blackburn and hopefully against Aston Villa too."
Instead it is Brighton manager Gus Poyet with his eyes fixed on Wembley after they reached the fifth round
"It would be a dream," admitted the Uruguayan, a winner as a player with Chelsea in 2000.
"That's why the cup is there. Last year we didn't pay too much attention to the cups because we were trying to get promoted to the Championship. This year it's a bit different."
