France coach Didier Deschamps has called up Benoit Tremoulinas to replace Gael Clichy for next month's friendly matches against Uruguay and Brazil.

The FFF said in a statement Monday that Clichy has a groin strain. He did not play for Manchester City in the 5-3 win against Chelsea in a friendly match on Sunday.

The 27-year-old Tremoulinas made his only appearance for France in a 2-1 win away to Italy last November.

Deschamps also called up Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier as cover for Samir Nasri, who scored twice against Chelsea but is rated as doubtful for the trip to South America.

Grenier has scored with superb free kicks from 30 yards out in consecutive games for Lyon.

France plays Uruguay on June 5 and then faces Brazil four days later.
