Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni says his five-year reign is likely to end after the current World Cup qualifying campaign.
The 74-year-old Italian's contract with Ireland runs through to next year's World Cup in Brazil but his team is unlikely to be there after a 2-1 loss to Sweden on Friday left the Irish fourth in their qualifying group.
Trapattoni says ''I don't expect, after this campaign, to go again (with Ireland) in the future.''
The former AC Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich coach, who took charge of Ireland in 2008, guided the country to the 2012 European Championship but missed out on qualification for the 2010 World Cup after losing to France in the playoffs following a controversial handball by Thierry Henry.
