Tottenham missed a chance to return to the Champions League qualification spots by drawing 2-2 at relegation-threatened Wigan on Saturday.
Gareth Bale seized on sloppy defending to put Tottenham in front after nine minutes, but Emmerson Boyce equalized inside two minutes and Callum McManaman netted the winner at the start of the second half.
It took an own goal from Boyce in the 90th minute for Tottenham to pull level but the visitors couldn't produce a winner.
In the chase for the four Champions League spots, Tottenham went level on points with Chelsea but its fourth-place rival has a superior goal difference and a game in hand.
