Torres taking it a step at a time
Fernando Torres maintains Chelsea must take things one step at a time as they look to overhaul Manchester United and claim an unlikely defence of their Barclays Premier League crown. The top two clash at Old Trafford on Sunday, with United just three points ahead following their defeat at Arsenal last weekend. Torres maintains Chelsea have to focus on completing the job in hand first rather than worrying about what might happen after they leave Manchester, where victory would put them back to the top of the table. The £50m Spain striker told Chelsea TV: "The first step is to win against Manchester United and after we know they have the power to score a lot of goals in the two games they have to play, the same as Chelsea. "So the first step is to win against Man U and then we will see what we have to do later. "We have one game at home and I am sure with the help of the supporters we can win the game, hopefully scoring some goals, and maybe that makes the difference." Carlo Ancelotti's men have found form at the right time for a late title surge, following a difficult spell which looked to have seen their hopes of back-to-back league championships gone. "The main thing is to believe. If you believe in football you never know what can happen," said Torres, who has finally broken his goal drought since moving from Liverpool in January. "We have again the possibility to win the title, but to win against Man United away is never easy, it is one of the hardest places to win. "However, we have that chance and we have to go there with the mentality that we can win. "We are in the position we wanted to be right now. "It is not only one game we have to win, after we have two more games, but if we can beat Manchester United and reach the top of the table the confidence will be so high."
