Togo beat Gabon 1-0 with a goal from Floyd Ayite in a World Cup qualifier Saturday.

Neither team qualified for next year's tournament in South Africa, but the win means Togo will join Gabon at the African Cup of Nations in January in Angola.

Ayite shot into the top corner in the 70th minute after taking a pass from Manchester City forward Emmanuel Adebayor.

Gabon finished second in Group A with nine points, four behind leader Cameroon, while Togo took third with eight points.

Gabon could have qualified with a win if Cameroon lost its last qualifier on Saturday. However, Cameroon beat last-place Morocco 2-0.
