PAOK coach Fernando Santos says he quitting the northern Greek club despite earning a spot in Champions League qualifying next season.

The 55-year-old Portuguese says he is taking a break from football after his third season at PAOK ended with impressive successive wins over main playoff rival Olympiakos to clinch a European berth.

Santos on Tuesday said he had grown too tired to maintain his coaching commitments. No replacement was announced.

PAOK leads the playoff standings by eight points with one match remaining, away to crosstown rival Aris Wednesday.
