The 38-year-old trained with the club on Thursday and has now agreed a short-term deal as the club sought emergency cover after being hit with several injuries. Martin Lejsal, Kenny Steppe and Brian Vandenbussche are all out, leaving youngster Diederik Bangma as the only option left. "We're happy that in this emergency we've been able to find a good and experienced goalkeeper," said club director Yme Kuiper. "His training was good and Henk is happy with this adventure. That is more than enough reason to go with it." Timmer had previously retired from the game after finishing last season with Feyenoord.
