MLS club Portland Timbers has signed former Rangers defender Steven Smith.
Smith, 26, played for Rangers from 2003-10, appearing in 55 matches. He moved to England in 2010, playing for Norwich City and Preston North End, with a loan spell at Aberdeen.
Smith, who has been on trial with the Timbers for the past two weeks, played with Portland forward Kris Boyd at Rangers.
