Tigres moved a point clear at the top of the Mexican Clausura standings on Saturday night by coming from behind to clinch a dramatic 2-1 home victory over nine-man Guadalajara.

The struggling visitors took the lead in the 21st minute through Omar Arellano, but it all started to unravel seven minutes before the interval when Erick Torres was sent off.

Carlos Salcido equalised in the 72nd minute, with Guadalajara's numbers further reduced moments later when Marco Fabian also received his marching orders, and then Juninho rubbed salt into their wounds by grabbing a stoppage-time winner.

The triumph lifted Tigres a point clear of Santos Laguna, who lost 3-1 at fifth-placed Club America.

America took the lead in the 38th minute courtesy of Christian Bermudez's strike and, although Carlos Ochoa got Santos Laguna back on level terms before the break, second-half goals from Christian Benitez and substitute Vicente Vuoso sealed the away win.

Morelia joined second-placed Santos Laguna on 30 points thanks to a 2-1 win at Pachuca, Edgar Lugo Aranda grabbing the decisive goal 13 minutes from time after home substitute Marco Bueno looked to have salvaged a point for the hosts by equalising Rafael Marquez Lugo's 21st-minute opener.

Monterrey slipped off the pace and down to fourth as they went down 1-0 at Atlas, Hugo Rodrigues' goal nine minutes before half-time proving the difference between the teams.

Elsewhere, Carlos Orrantia netted a second-half winner to lead Unam Pumas to a 2-1 success at Atlante after their early lead - gifted to them through a Ricardo Jimenez own goal - had been cancelled out by Juan Cuevas' equaliser.

Basement boys Queretaro twice came from behind to nick a 2-2 home draw against third-bottom San Luis.

Alfredo Moreno and substitute Facundo Pereyra twice put San Luis on course for an away win, but their leads were swiftly cancelled out by Isaac Romo and substitute Alberto Garcia, respectively.
