Tigres maul Pumas to stay at summit

Tigres Monterrey is top of the Mexican Apertura after easing to a 4-1 win over Unam Pumas.

All the Tigres' goals came in the first half through Lucas Lobos (18), Anselmo Juninho (28), Hector Mancilla (36) and Manuel Viniegra (39).

The Pumas had Luis Fentes sent off seven minutes after the break although Eduardo Herrera scored eight minutes from time.

Cruz Azul moved level on points with Tigres following a 2-0 win over struggling Puebla.

Javier Orozco Penuelas scored both goals in the 77th and 89th minutes as his side went second behind the leaders on goal difference.

Santos Laguna are just a point behind following a 3-1 win at Queretaro.

The visitor was 2-0 up after eight minutes through Carlos Quintero and Oribe Peralta but Queretaro halved the deficit with Ricardo Vasquez's penalty (25).

Carlos Morales then confirmed the win halfway through the second half.

Pachuca is fourth after Elias Hernandez goal guided them to a 1-0 win over Jaguares who had Oscar Razo sent off 20 minutes from time.

Mid-table pair Atlante and San Luis shared a 1-1 draw.

Othoniel Arce put Atlante ahead (47) before being reduced to 10 men nine minutes from time when Christian Sanchez was given a straight red card.

Juan Cuevas equalised a minute later.

A last-minute penalty by Flavio Santos secured a point for Atlas with a 2-2 draw against Tijuana in a match between the bottom two sides.

Ricardo Jimenez put Atlas ahead (49) but had Hugo Rodrigues sent off (62) and the visitor equalised four minutes later.

Fernando Arce then put Tijuana 2-1 up with nine minutes left before they too were reduced to 10 men when the same player was sent off with two minutes remaining.

The host was then awarded a penalty in the last minute which Santos held his nerve to convert.
