The former Bolton player revealed in January that he wanted to quit Fulham after he held discussions with boss Roy Hodgson over his lack of playing time. Having not played in the Premier League this season, the 26-year-old asked his agent to organise a transfer in the winter window, but a move did not materialise and he must now wait until his contract expires in the summer. The Iran international, who has spent time on loan at Barnsley, does not want to return to his homeland and is eager to stay in Europe. He is quoted as saying by Iranfootball.ir: "I wanted to join another team in the winter break, but I did not receive a good offer. "I am determined to stay in Europe and I don't want to return to Iran. "Roy Hodgson prefers to use the other players at Fulham and I cannot stay at Craven Cottage. I am sure I am going to have brighter days in European football."
