Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been included in Argentina's 23-man squad for the Copa America.

Tevez's international future had been in doubt after he failed to show for a friendly with rivals Brazil last year.

The 27-year-old was subsequently dropped and showed little desire to win back his place, but was included in Sergio Batista's provisional tournament squad of 26.

Argentina will host the event and Tevez is likely to play a part, having now made the final cut along with fellow star players Lionel Messi, Javier Mascherano and Javier Zanetti, to name but a few.

Tevez was a second-half substitute during Argentina's 4-0 drubbing of Albania last week, scoring the last goal of the rout in what was their final outing before the tournament opener with Bolivia on Friday.
