Terry dismisses Blues crisis talk

Chelsea captain John Terry insists there is no crisis at Stamford Bridge as the Blues look to end their current poor run of form at Tottenham.

The Blues face Spurs, Manchester United and Arsenal in three games that could define their season this month.

Their 1-0 Champions League defeat by Marseille in midweek was the latest setback, but despite their worst run of results for more than a decade, Terry remains confident an upturn in fortunes is around the corner.

"It's not a crisis at all at the moment, we're still in with a shout of the Premier League and we've just topped our Champions League group," said Terry.

"Early on in the season we were playing very well and if we can get that form back, with other teams slipping up, everyone dropping points, we can pull away from teams again.

"Nothing has changed on the squad basis, it's just about staying together and staying confident.

"There's no point pointing the finger at individuals, we're not going to dig each other out, it's about being men and being told and listening to what each other has to say.

"We went three years without winning the Premier League and got it back last year. Believe me the celebrations afterwards and the feeling of getting our hands on that trophy was unbelievable, it was like the first time we had won the trophy.

"I don't think anyone can say they're playing well, the good thing is we're not out of it, we're in with a very good chance and we've certainly got the ability to go to Tottenham, to go to Arsenal and get great wins like we have done in previous years.

"It's time for all of us to stand up. When the chips are down you have to make things happen yourself, because nobody will give you anything in this game."

Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Paulo Ferreira wants revenge on Tottenham star Gareth Bale.

Ferreira will be given the task of marking the left-winger after right-back Jose Bosingwa suffered a hamstring injury against Marseille.

But the Portugal international insists he is ready for the Wales international this time around.

"If I have to play against Gareth Bale again, I will be ready," said Ferreira. "I will try to give everything. He did very well against me last April but let's see what he will do this time.

"He is in great shape and it will be difficult to mark him but Spurs are not just about Bale. They have a good team as well. He is a very quick player and it is hard to keep up with him.

"Even Maicon struggled against him earlier in the season for Inter and he is one of the best right-backs in the world but I will do everything to stop him."
