The highly-rated midfielder vowed never to represent his country again after he learned he would start on the bench for their African Nations Cup qualifier with Algeria last month. The temperamental 22-year-old, who stormed out of the country's training camp at the time, insisted the national team was 'over' for him. However, Taarabt has now admitted he regrets his actions and is thought to have requested a meeting with manager Gerets about his future with the national side. "I know I made a mistake," he told Moroccan TV station RTM. "I made a decision when I was fired up and regretted it one second later. I should never have done it." Taarabt has won 10 caps for Morocco, scoring three goals, since making his international debut in February 2009. The youngster has impressed at QPR this season, playing a key role in their promotion to the Premier League, with his performances reportedly earning him interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
