Swiss football authorities suspect four second-tier matches could be linked to a widespread Italian match-fixing probe.

Switzerland's federal prosecution office says the national football federation has filed a complaint against ''unknown persons.''

Spokeswoman Jacqueline Buehlmann says prosecutors are ''examining whether the alleged actions meet the requirements for suspected criminal behavior.''

Swiss daily Tages-Anzeiger says the matches include a second division game between Locarno and Stade Nyonnais last September.

Stade Nyonnais led 2-1 when UEFA's betting monitoring system reportedly identified wagers placed on Locarno scoring again. The match ended 2-2.

Around 50 suspects have been arrested in an Italian operation led by prosecutors in Cremona.
