Swiss prosecutors have interrogated disgraced Neuchatel Xamax owner Bulat Chagaev as part of their investigation into the Chechen's alleged mismanagement of the club's finances.
The handcuffed businessman smiled at photographers as he arrived and left the hearing in the western Swiss city of Neuchatel.
Cantonal (state) prosecutor Pierre Aubert said Monday that the hearing was the first formal interrogation of Chagaev since Neuchatel authorities opened a probe into the Xamax owner's activities in November.
Chagaev is suspected of providing fake American bank letters purporting to show he had $35 million.

The Chechen was arrested in Geneva last month, hours after Xamax was formally declared bankrupt and dropped out of the Swiss Super League.
