Swedes set sights on Guidetti

The 18-year-old striker is yet to make his Premier League debut for the Blues and finds himself some way down the pecking order at Eastlands. The arrival of Edin Dezko in January has only served to further block his path to the first team. Djurgardens hope that situation will play into their hands, but admit they have some way to go in order to land the Sweden Under-21 international. They turned down the opportunity to take Guidetti on loan last season and appreciate that relations between the club and the player have to be rebuilt. "I have made enquiries about John's situation," Djurgardens sporting director Stefan Alven told Expressen. "The issue is the relations since he was supposed to be on his way to us last season." Alven is hoping an agreement can be reached but, with Guidetti having been on the bench for City in their FA Cup clash at Notts County over the weekend, admits he might be left disappointed. "It doesn't feel very possible right now," he added. Guidetti has already taken in a one-month spell at Burnley this season, during which time he scored one goal in five appearances.
