Swansea City have one victory in their last seven fixtures, but there is no crisis there compared to the woes of Norwich City.
The Canaries are hoping a change in the calendar will help change their fortunes after dropping four on the trot in October when the Swans come calling to Carrow Road on Saturday.
Swansea City have one win, four losses and two draws in their last seven. They fell 3-0 at home to Arsenal on Saturday despite an effort in which they held possession for 54 percent and went into the half scoreless.
"We're disappointed to lose the game," manager Garry Monk said. "It's a hard one because there were a lot of positives, especially the first half. We were the better team in the first half, we were creating chances and playing some very good football."
The 13th-placed Swans can't cry 'woe is me' compared to the mounting pressure Canaries boss Alex Neil is feeling after a Saturday defeat to a fellow Premier League heavyweight like Arsenal.
Norwich City got an equaliser from Cameron Jerome in the 83rd minute at the Etihad Stadium. A point was in the cards until goalkeeper John Ruddy misplayed a cross and then clumsily left his area before a shot by Raheem Sterling headed to the open goal was blocked by the hand of Canaries captain Russell Martin.
Manchester City converted the 89th-minute penalty for a 2-1 victory that consigned the Canaries to four defeats in as many October league fixtures. It's their worst run since a five-match slide in April 2014 that eventually banished them to the Championship.
"Everyone makes mistakes; these things happen in football because we're all human," Jerome told Norwich City's official website. "It's just unfortunate that it's cost us a point. I'd just been substituted so didn't see what happened, but we can't be too critical."
Norwich are 16th on nine points - two off the drop for the total by Newcastle United. Three of their October defeats came by a single goal, and this contest takes on added importance since the Canaries' other league fixtures this month are versus Arsenal and Chelsea.
"Every game is big for us," Neil said. "The disappointing thing is that chucked a point away today with a minute to go, but ultimately we need to go next week to try and gain some points."
The boss will have to make do for the first time without the suspended Martin, who had played every minute of every match before being sent off for the handball incident. The defender is second on the team with three goals, with midfielder Nathan Redmond tops with four.
The Canaries have conceded a league-high 15 second-half goals this season, including six allowed in the last 10 minutes of matches. The Swans have yet to score after the 75th minute.
Misfiring Swansea striker Bafetimbi Gomis has no goals in seven straight league matches after recording one in each of the first four. He is again expected to partner up front with Andre Ayew, who leads the Swans with five goals.
