Sunderland eased to a 3-0 victory over Blackburn Saturday with goals from Danny Welbeck, Darren Bent and Asamoah Gyan securing a sixth home win of the season.
After failing to score from 34 attempts in Tuesday's 2-0 defeat against Blackpool, on-loan Manchester United striker Welbeck opened the scoring in only the 11th minute.
Bent scored his eighth league goal of the season eight minutes later with a glancing header and Gyan completed the scoring in the 89th after replacing a fading Bent for the closing minutes.
