Italy midfielder Mauro Camoranesi has joined Bundesliga club Stuttgart from Juventus on the final day of the transfer window.

Stuttgart said Tuesday that the 33-year-old Camoranesi signed a one-year contract.

"He is a player with personality and will certainly help us, because he comes with a rucksack full of success and he has a lot of experience," coach Christian Gross told German newspaper Stuttgarter Zeitung.

The Argentine-born Camoranesi won the World Cup with Italy in 2006 and was in the squad at this year's tournament in South Africa. He won three Serie A titles with Juventus.

Stuttgart said both clubs agreed not to disclose details of the deal. Media estimated its value at about 2 million euros ($2.5 million).

The 2007 Bundesliga champion has made a poor start to the season. It is at the bottom of the table after losing its first two matches.

Germany midfielder Sami Khedira left Stuttgart for Real Madrid in July after a successful World Cup. Stuttgart has since signed French midfielder Johan Audel from Valenciennes.
