Kevin Strootman's agent says the Dutchman is happy at Roma despite fresh reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

Recent reports have suggested United have lined up a move for long-term target Strootman in January as they look to bolster their midfield options.

United have been trailing Strootman for some time and were strongly linked with a move for the former PSV Eindhoven star before his switch to Roma last summer.

Strootman has impressed at Roma since his arrival in the Italian capital, with the 23-year-old playing a key role in helping the Giallorossi to second spot in Serie A.

It has been suggested United boss David Moyes has made midfield reinforcements his top priority in the January transfer window and that Strootman was top of his wanted list.

However Strootman's agent, Chiel Dekker, says the midfielder is not thinking about leaving Roma as he is happy with life in Italy.

"Kevin is very happy in Rome and his intention is to stay here for a long time," Dekker told Sky Sports.

"They have started a project and a new team and he has adapted well to his new club."
