LONDON (AP) Stoke scored twice in the final 12 minutes to salvage a 2-2 draw at Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, keeping both teams without a win after two rounds this season.

Marko Arnautovic converted a 78th-minute penalty to get Stoke back into the game after conceding twice in the first half, before Mame Biram Diouf turned in substitute Stephen Ireland's cross in the 83rd.

''If the game had gone a little bit longer who knows we might have been greedy and claimed two more points,'' Stoke manager Mark Hughes said.

Spurs looked like bouncing back from a 1-0 defeat at Manchester United last weekend when Eric Dier rose above two markers to meet Christian Eriksen's corner with a near-post header in the 19th minute. Nacer Chadli made it 2-0 in stoppage time, volleying in a deep cross by left back Ben Davies.

The game changed when Harry Kane was taken off by Spurs - the England striker applied ice on his calf as he sat on the bench - and Ireland was introduced by Stoke in a five-minute span around the hour mark.

''We looked to be comfortable but that's what we need to work on, to not slow down and keep going,'' Dier said. ''It was our fault last season and we're disappointed we've done it again this season. I felt it was our fault more than theirs - we let them back into the game.''

Stoke, which lost at home to Liverpool in its opener, was unable to field new signing Xherdan Shaqiri as the Switzerland midfielder was serving a suspension from his time in Italy with Inter Milan.
