Stoke ended its four-game losing streak in the Premier League on Sunday, beating Swansea 2-0 with first-half goals from Matthew Upson and Peter Crouch.
Stoke manager Tony Pulis made 11 changes from the side knocked out of the Europa League midweek by Valencia and got the desired result with Upson powerfully heading in his first goal for the club in the 24th minute off Matthew Etherington's corner.
Swansea was undone again in the 39th from another set-piece, when Crouch had the simple task of nodding in Ryan Shotton's long throw past the despairing dive of Gerhard Tremmel.
The victory earned Stoke its first points in the league since a draw with Liverpool on January 14. Pulis' side climbed above Swansea and into 12th place.
