Stevenage manager Gary Smith had to be satisfield with a 2-2 draw with Crewe at Broadhall Way on Saturday.

Boro were 2-0 down inside 10 minutes courtesy of two quickfire strikes from Ajay Leitch-Smith.

But Luke Freeman pulled one back before the break, Crewe had Chuks Aneke sent off and substitute Robin Shroot hit a second-half equaliser.

"It's difficult to take but in the circumstances it's something we have to accept and seeing as we were coming from behind we were asking an awful lot to win the game," said Smith.

"We did ever so well to get back in the game and I felt for long spells we dominated. We forced the issue with some really good openings and but for some poor decision making we might have won."
