Steve Bruce agrees to new deal with Premier League team Hull City
HULL, England --
Hull manager Steve Bruce has agreed a new deal with the Premier League club after overseeing the most successful period in its history.
Hull says Wednesday that the former Manchester United defender will sign his new contract ''within the next 24 hours.''
Bruce took charge in 2012 and helped the team win promotion to the Premier League in his first season. In the following season, he guided the club to a first appearance in an FA Cup final, which secured participation in European football for the first time.
Hull is 15th in the league, five points clear of relegation trouble, and on course to seal a third straight season in the top division.
Bruce says ''we look to continue to grow and become a solid, well-run Premier League club.''
