Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara has hinted he could add Calum Butcher and Kudus Oyenuga to his squad.

The duo started their careers with Tottenham, and played together last season with Hayes & Yeading United.

McNamara, who has also handed trials to former St Mirren defender Graham Carey and Turkish winger Nadir Ciftci, welcomed his players back for the beginning of pre-season training at their base in St Andrews on Monday.

"There are a lot of things still happening player-wise and hopefully by the end of this week we will have the right ones in," McNamara said.

"There are two lads here who have been with Spurs - Butcher and Oyenuga. I've watched them in a trial game.

"Both impressed us so we have moved to bring them here. Butcher is a centre-half and Oyenuga is a forward."

The Tannadice club have also taken former Norwich goalkeeper Lee Camp on trial after his departure from Carrow Road this summer.

The 19-year-old was on the club's books as a youth-team player before attracting the attention of Liverpool and moving to Anfield in April 2010.

However, Stephens was released by the Merseyside outfit at the end of last season without a first-team appearance to his name and is now back at the County Ground.

Boss Kevin MacDonald told the club's official website: "Jamie is here for a few days and we will have a look at him.

"He did very well on Monday, which was his first day back, but we will see what he can do and then go from there.

"He has been recommended to us and I know he was at Swindon a few years back. There's not a lot more we can say at the moment but we will see what happens.

"At the moment we are trying to get the players we have here as fit as we can while also taking a look at the trialists that have been recommended to the club."
