St. Pauli gained promotion to the Bundesliga for the fifth time
despite losing 2-1 at home to Paderborn.
The club from Hamburg's red-light district with a cult
following joined Kaiserslautern in being promoted. Kaiserslautern
was assured of going up before Sunday's 1-1 home draw with
Augsburg, which will meet Nuremberg in a playoff to reach the
Bundesliga.
Kaiserslautern finished three points ahead of St. Pauli in
the second division. Augsburg was third.
Nuremberg finished third from last in the top division, while
Bochum and Hertha Berlin were relegated.
