Cillian Sheridan and Frazer Wright have returned to training and could play some part for Saints.

Sheridan, who this week agreed an extension to his loan deal until the end of the season, has made only one eight-minute appearance under Steve Lomas due to a hamstring problem.

Wright, meanwhile, has been absent with a thigh injury since the win at Hearts on December 3.

Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been ruled out of the game due to a thigh injury, so Neil Alexander will play in goal.

The Gers are boosted by the news that defender Kyle Bartley and midfielder Maurice Edu are both fit to feature.

The pair suffered knocks during last week's Scottish Cup tie at Arbroath but are available for the trip to Perth.

Midfielder Steven Davis returns from suspension but Kirk Broadfoot, Steven Whittaker, Kyle Lafferty and Steven Naismith remain on the sidelines.
