Rangers scored five second-half goals to rout Motherwell 6-1 on
Saturday in the Scottish Premier League.
Rangers striker Kenny Miller opened the scoring after five
minutes when he curled a shot past the goalkeeper from 25 meters.
His side dominated the rest of the first half but had to wait
until the second half for its second goal, which arrived with Kris
Boyd's close range finish in the 53rd minute.
Miller added the third in the 58th when he fired in with his
left foot from a tight angle, his fourth goal in the last two
games.
Shaun Hutchinson scored a consolation goal for Motherwell in
the 67th, before two goals from Kyle Lafferty and one from DaMarcus
Beasley ensured Rangers' third straight win.
Rangers leads the standings with 37 points. Second-place
Celtic is four points behind but can close the gap when it plays at
Hearts on Sunday.
Also Saturday, Falkirk won at Kilmarnock 2-1, Hibernian won
at Aberdeen 2-0 and St. Johnstone beat St. Mirren 1-0.
The game between Hamilton and Dundee United was one of 12 in
Scotland postponed on Saturday because of a frozen pitch.
