Huddersfield striker Jimmy Spencer has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

Spencer is expected to be out for around 12 weeks and will play no part in the Terriers' survival bid after going under the knife on Thursday.

The 21-year-old made his Town debut back in August in the Capital One Cup defeat to Preston before making his Football League bow the following Friday against Cardiff.

The academy graduate was then sent on loan to Brentford to gain first-team experience, before another loan spell at Crawley was cut short when he picked up the knee injury.
