Cesc Fabregas will be pushing to be fit for Spain's European Championship opener against Italy after Barcelona says the midfielder will be out injured for up to 10 days.
Barcelona says Fabregas will be sidelined seven to 10 days due to a strain to his right thigh picked up after coming on for the last 10 minutes of Friday's 3-0 Copa del Rey final win over Athletic Bilbao.
World Cup champion Spain begins the defense of its European title on June 10.
Fabregas, who is likely to be named in Spain's 23-man squad on Sunday, will miss friendlies against South Korea and perhaps China on June 3.
