South Africa is the IRB's team of the year and Ireland's Declan Kidney is coach of the year. The International Rugby Board made the presentations at Croke Park after Ireland's 15-10 win over the Springboks on Saturday. World Cup holder South Africa won the southern hemisphere Tri-Nations title for the first time in five years this season, while Ireland completed 2009 unbeaten after winning the Six Nations with its first Grand Slam since 1948. Kidney says "my role is overstated. I haven't made a tackle all year."
