Sources: Dutch legend Koeman set to be appointed Southampton boss
Dutch legend Ronald Koeman is set to become the new head coach of Southampton, according to Sky sources.
Koeman, who left Feyenoord at the end of last season after finishing second in the Eredivisie, is expected to succeed Mauricio Pochettino who departed St Maryâs to take over as Tottenham boss earlier this month.
Southampton executive director Les Reed revealed this week they were close to announcing a high-caliber managerial appointment and reports suggest the former Netherlands international is their main target.
Koeman, who has managed in Holland, Portugal and Spain, will have to shut the exit door at Southampton with Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw and Dejan Lovren all linked with moves away.
Hull City boss Steve Bruce along with former Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup, ex-Celtic boss Neill Lennon and former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood have all been linked with the Saints post.
