An English Premier League executive with direct knowledge of the
situation says the league is launching a global television service.
From the start of next season, the league will broadcast a
24-hour international feed of programing for broadcast rights
holders outside Britain, the executive told The Associated Press on
Friday.
He was speaking on condition of anonymity because a public
announcement is yet to be made.
The networks in each country will be able to brand the
content as they like.
The Premier League will officially brand the feed a "content
service" so that it doesn't affect the ability of their clubs,
including Manchester United and MUTV, to sell their own channels.
