Walsall boss Dean Smith claimed his players had been inspired by his early morning dip in the sea as they beat Bournemouth 2-1.
George Bowerman pivoted to hook home a last-minute winner after Andy Butler headed down a corner to ruin David James' Bournemouth debut and clinch Walsall their third away win of the season.
James, who signed a season-long contract on Thursday, was earlier left helpless when Bowerman's cross found Butler unmarked eight yards out and the Saddlers' skipper headed Walsall into the lead.
Bournemouth thought they had earned a late point in the 81st minute when Charlie Daniels latched on to a loose ball to drive the equaliser past Darlow, but the point was snatched away by Bowerman's late winner.
"Myself and two of the staff went down to the beach and we went in. It was Baltic," said Smith. "But we try and lead from the front and the players have regular ice baths to ease their muscles. It's part of the good team ethic we have at the club.
"There was a bit of sloppy defending which allowed them back into the game, but the reaction was brilliant. I thought we controlled the game, we were well organised and didn't allow them to play."
