Silvestre seeking Prem return
Mikael Silvestre is training with Manchester United as he attempts to find employment at a Premier League club.
The French defender dropped into the free agent pool over the summer following his release by German outfit Werder Bremen.
His former employers at Old Trafford have offered him use of their training facilities as he tries to convince another top flight boss that he is worthy of an opportunity.
Silvestre has vast experience of life in English football, having spent nine years with Manchester United before going on to take in two years at Arsenal.
The 35-year-old former France international believes he is still capable of competing at the highest level and hopes to catch the eye of a manager on the lookout for an experienced centre-half.
"I am back here to train," Silvestre told MUTV. "I came a few weeks ago and had a chat with the gaffer (Sir Alex Ferguson) just before the Capital One Cup game. I said was coming back to Manchester until Christmas and he said, 'Come and train and stay fit until you move to somewhere else'.
"When you are training with the lads you feel like you are still capable of playing in the Premier League.
"I am fit, that is the main point, and I still have the hunger for the game. So this level is still the level that I am targeting."
