Uruguay forward Santiago Silva reached an agreement Tuesday to join Argentine club Boca Juniors after just a five-month stint with Italian club Fiorentina.
Boca said Silva was joining his new team on Tuesday at a training camp in Tandil, Argentina.
Silva joined Fiorentina this season from Argentine club Velez Sarsfield but has struggled to adjust to Italian football, scoring just one goal in 12 appearances.
Silva will be only eligible to play in Copa Libertadores matches this season. By Argentine league rules he cannot play in the upcoming Clausura season.
Boca opens the Copa Libertadores on Feb. 14 against Zamora of Venezuela.
