Skipper Brunt pulled up sharply during the latter stages of the Baggies' 1-0 defeat on Sunday and had to be substituted. The Northern Ireland international underwent an initial scan on Monday but Albion are to seek a second opinion. Albion boss Roy Hodgson will hope it is not a long-term problem with another midfielder in Youssouf Mulumbu already sidelined with a groin injury. Hodgson voiced his immediate concerns in the aftermath of Albion's sixth home loss of the season. He said: "It doesn't look very good with Chris Brunt with the way he came off the field. "It is a painful one. It is a job to assess exactly what happened. He had no-one near him at the time. We will have to wait and see what the doctors and the scan say."
