Falkirk's attempt to avoid relegation from the Scottish Premier League was hit Saturday by a 1-0 home loss to Hamilton.

Marco Paixao scored a first-half header as Falkirk missed the chance to climb off the bottom of the standings.

Falkirk stayed on 28 points, one fewer than Kilmarnock.

Killie lost 1-0 at St. Mirren, which is now four points ahead of Falkirk with three games remaining.

Fourth-place Motherwell won 2-0 at Hearts and Aberdeen drew 1-1 at St. Johnstone.

Rangers can clinch a second straight title with victory at Hibernian on Sunday, when second-place Celtic is at third-place Dundee United.
