Craig Levein is expected to be appointed Scotland's new coach on Tuesday after having talks with Scottish Football Association officials.

The Dundee United manager met SFA chief executive Gordon Smith, president George Peat and board members Campbell Ogilvie and Alan McRae on Monday and has emerged as favorite to succeed George Burley, who was fired Nov. 16.

Burley failed to get Scotland to the World Cup and departed soon after the team was outplayed 3-0 by Wales in a friendly.
