Scholes plays down impact
Scholes has enjoyed a dream return to the United team after coming out of retirement at the turn of the year.
The 37-year-old, who hung up his boots at the end of last season, has played his part in three successive victories after the club suffered back-to-back defeats over the new year.
"I don't think I've had too big an effect," he said.
"You obviously have to adjust physically but I think you have to adjust mentally as well.
"It does take a bit of getting used to and I think the advantage that I had was that I'd been at the club anyway for the last four or five months doing coaching so it wasn't too difficult to settle back in."
Scholes' latest contribution was coming off the bench in Sunday's Premier League victory at Arsenal, with the winning goal scored within five minutes of his introduction.
The result moved United back to within three points of Manchester City following the leaders' last-gasp win over Tottenham.
"Both teams won so we are still where we are," Scholes said.
"I think we had the tougher game because it is always more difficult to go away.
"There's still three months of the season to go and hopefully we'll be in the right place when the time comes.
"City are going well at the minute.
"We're only three points behind them. Funny things can happen towards the end of the season.
"We just have to look after ourselves, get the right results and hope other results go our way as well."
