The midfielder has already survived two relegation battles with Wigan and West Brom, and admits he would rather avoid another dogfight this campaign. Scharner, 31, insists the Baggies should be looking up the table, especially after their thrilling 3-2 win at Newcastle last time out, and he is sure that Roy Hodgson's side are too good to go down. He told The Daily Star: "Beating Newcastle was brilliant but I said after beating Blackburn that we need to stop concentrating on beating relegation. "I think we are better than that. It doesn't matter where we are in the league, our team and the way we have performed in the last four or five games, shows we are better than relegation fighters. "(Manchester) City are next and so have to concentrate on them. We know that nothing in football is impossible." The Austrian was part of the Wigan side which survived on the last day of the 2006-07 season. He said: "I don't want to ever experience that again. There was a lot of pressure and it's not something you want to have to go through again."
