Schalke has been awarded a 2-0 win over St. Pauli in a Bundesliga match that was suspended when a fan threw a full plastic beer cup at a linesman.

Schalke was leading by the same result when Friday's match in Hamburg was abandoned in the 87th minute. The German football federation says St. Pauli was responsible for the incident because the cup was thrown from the ranks of home supporters.

The culprit has been identified.

St. Pauli is next-to-last in the standings and is battling against relegation.
