Mexican club Santos guaranteed itself a quarterfinals spot in the CONCACAF Champions League, defeating Municipal of Guatemala 6-1 on Tuesday in the last group game for both clubs.
Daniel Luduena and Oribe Peralta each scored two goals for the Mexico club.
Santos finished atop Group B with 13 points from six games. Municipal finished with eight points and was eliminated. The lopsided victory means U.S. team Columbus Crew will claim second place and a spot in the quarterfinals. Crew has nine points and plays Thursday against last-place Joe Public of Trinidad.
